25 Nov 2022

Only a few kilometres from the Perth CBD and nestled on the banks of the Swan River, Nedlands is known as one of Perth’s most desirable suburbs. You only need take a short drive through one of its leafy green streets to get a feel for the exclusive nature of this incredible location. Nedlands offers residents stylish boutiques, cosy cafes, and a laidback lifestyle close to the city on the banks of the Swan River. A well-established suburb, Nedlands offers a range of residences, from units and townhouses to luxurious mansions with sweeping river views. Heritage-style homes nestle next to modern mansions, and this diversity is part of its appeal.

Schools

Nedlands offers public and private school options and is home to the University of Western Australia, arguably WA’s most prestigious university.

Shopping

There are plenty of boutiques and eateries to visit in Nedlands, including the ever-popular Steve’s Hotel and the stunning Matilda Bay restaurant. Broadway and Hammond Road run through Nedlands from north to south and this is where you will find an extensive range of restaurant, café and shopping options.

About Nedlands

Crime is low in Nedlands, making it one of Perth’s safest suburbs. It is the perfect place to raise a family due to the large block sizes, abundant parklands, and great schools. Whether raising a family or enjoying retirement, Nedlands has something for everyone.

The laidback lifestyle of this wonderful suburb is attractive for busy professionals and is popular with those in the medical industry due to its proximity to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

The abundance of character and period style homes including California Bungalows and Post-War architecture, attract many property owners who are looking for heritage style housing to renovate and extend.

Addstyle Builders in Nedlands

We started this Addstyle Builders Nedlands renovation project by removing an existing extension, that was previously added by another builder, but was out of scale and out of square. We added a new double-brick extension to accommodate a large open-plan living space. This new space features an expansive kitchen, scullery, dining room, and laundry. Addstyle integrated the transition between internal and external spaces with huge timber bi-fold doors leading to a new alfresco area with a stylish double-sided outdoor feature fireplace.

For added luxury, a sauna room, and wine store completed the outdoor space. The result is a modern extension that matches the scale and detail of the original Nedlands cottage. The owners were keen to retain the original heritage elements of the building, and we worked closely with them to create a seamless blend between the old and the new. This home extension project won Addstyle an MBA Housing Excellence award for Best Alteration & Addition in it’s price category.
