This project involved the construction of an upper floor extension comprising of a Main Bedroom with Ensuite and Walk In Robe, a Landing area with Balcony, and a third bedroom with an Ensuite and Walk In Robe.
Street presence was paramount when considering this design and the principals applied to the upper floor extension needed to compliment two separate street frontages, as well as maintaining a high level of detail in order to relate to the existing heritage residence.
Locating the staircase off the Entry gave us the opportunity to include a large void and window with window molding detail to relate to the Entry window. It also allows light to filter into what was originally a very dark Entry.
A complete re-roof was undertaken to the existing residence.
Particular attention to detail was given to the dutch gable ends over the Balcony and west-facing elevation in order to truly compliment the existing characteristics of the home.
